KVM Switch

A KVM switch (with KVM stands for Keyboard, Video or Visual Display Unit, Mouse) is a device that allows the user to multiple computers from one keyboard, video monitor and mouse. Although multiple computers are connected to the KVM, typically a smaller number of computers can be checked at any given time. Modern equipment has also added the ability to use USB devices and speakers with multiple computers to share.
Some KVM switches can also work in reverse - that is, a single PC can be connected to multiple monitors, keyboards and mice. Although not as common as the first, this configuration is useful when the operator wants to access a single computer from two or more (usually close) locations - for example a public kiosk machine that also features an interface AIV Unit achter counter, or an office home computer that is also a home theater PC.
